The Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University invites the community to join them for Second Friday on July 8, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00pm. July’s Second Friday reception will mark the opening of exhibitions by artists Ed Kent, in the Atlantic City Gallery, and artist James Raczkowski, in the Osprey Gallery. Light refreshments will be served, and The Iron Room will conduct a wine tasting; there will also be live music for your listening pleasure and a DIY craft project for all ages.

Story Slam

Story Slam is a free, friendly, story-telling competition open to all. All genres & styles of storytelling are welcome; fiction, non-fiction or anything in between. Each participant is limited to 500 words, or about 5 minutes. Winners will be selected by judges and audience vote as well as by judges and will receive fabulous prizes in a variety of categories! Anyone interested in telling a story must register in advance. Suggested theme to be interpreted as pleased: Revenge

The Arts Corral - Soft Opening

The Artist's Corral is a beautification project that has taken root in a outdoor space outside the Arts Garage on Mississippi Avenue. Located adjacent to Arts Alley, this previously underutilized space has been transformed into a community garden/multi-purpose space for local artists, students, residents, and business owners. The Arts Corral cultivates creative place making in the Ducktown neighborhood!

This month we celebrate The Arts District of Atlantic City! The Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University invites you to join them for Second Friday. During this month’s Second Friday the African American Heritage Museum will hold their official opening for their latest exhibit, Black Mail. Local artists Allyson Block and Darya Hrybava will be on hand for the opening of their respective exhibits. As usual, there will be a DIY project where all ages can exercise their creativity. Light refreshments will be served and The Iron Room will conduct wine tasting, all while Jack Patch performs his Americana Folk music live for your listening pleasure.

While at the Arts Garage, you are encouraged to explore the new Arts Alley. Weather permitting, there will be live music and an interactive Arts Alley Mural project where you can express your own creativity. On the next corner, Mississippi & Arctic Avenues, next to Formica’s Bakery, is the latest ARTeriors exhibit sponsored by the Atlantic City Arts Foundation. ARTeriors is where you can explore the unique use of previously unused space now filled with art installations created by local artists while you enjoy the music of Jazz & Bubbles. There will be walking guides available to show you around the various events in the newly formed AC ARTS District.

Capture Atlantic Photo Walk

Capture Atlantic is hosting a photowalk through the Arts District of Atlantic City, located in the Ducktown neighborhood. Everyone will meet inside the Arts Garage at 2pm, light refreshments will be provided. We will begin the walk at 2:30 through the arts district. The walk will end at a secret location and food will be provided by Tony Boloneys. This photo walk is meant for everyone whether you have a camera or not, a dslr or an iPhone. Artist, art lover, or model, etc. There will also be a second walk at 9pm after Second Friday ends.
