Last Day for NJ Voters to Register to Vote

Your outreach will help make sure that art supporters are aware of the need to register, and are reminded of their civic duty to vote in November.

There is so much at stake in this midterm election. Not the least is with Rep. Frelinghuysen’s (R-NJ11) retirement. An influential arts supporter and chair of the all-important Appropriations Committee, Rep. Frelinghuysen’s moderate conservative voice supported NEA and NEH budget increases, despite proposals to terminate both agencies. Another tenured House member will assume Frelinghuysen’s leadership position. This individual will most certainly face another proposal from the President in early 2019 to eliminate the federal cultural agencies. In addition, there are hotly contested elections in at least four N.J. congressional districts.

1. Make sure you’re registered to vote by October 16th! If you’ve moved, you need to register again!
Check whether you’re registered.
Fill out a voter registration form for your county.

2. Keep an eye on ArtPride’s Candidate Survey Responses to see how your potential representatives in Congress feel about the arts. Head to the polls informed.
Read candidate survey responses.

3. VOTE! November 6th is Election Day.
Find your polling place and show up!

ALL votes count and it’s important that all arts supporters are informed and exercise this right as Americans.
