Two Noyes Locations are Transformed Into VR

Recent Stockton grad, Melanie Irizarry, showed off her tech skills with an incredible new addition to our website! Irizarry, Digital Studies class of 2024, completed her senior project at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University. She created an interactive virtual reality tour of our two locations in Atlantic City and Hammonton, NJ. The project was designed to improve accessibility for all visitors by offering comprehensive, navigational views of key features such as accessible parking, wheelchair ramps, main entrances, event rental spaces, and interior spaces. By bringing these spaces online to a digital format, the tours aim to empower guests to plan their visits with confidence and ease.

With the new virtual tour, guests can click on the image and rotate the camera view to navigate through our museum locations. This accomplishment was no easy feat and required technology that Irizarry had never worked with before. After much research and many video tutorials, Irizarry used a camera that captures 360° photos and a program called Matterport. After days of uploading and editing the photos, they were published live to the Noyes Museum’s website.

Melanie’s virtual tours are available on our website at https://noyesmuseum.org/locations.
