In honor of Black History Month, the Noyes Museum at Kramer Hall in Hammonton is offering a special quilt box art project!
Underground Railroad quilts were used to provide directions and a path to freedom to those escaping slavery. There is no written record of these quilt codes, but historians have documented oral histories that offer proof of their importance. Select a pattern that is meaningful to you and use it to make a beautiful box. They are fun and easy to make!
