The Traditional Lantern Workshop hosted by the Yeondeunghoe Preservation Committee at Stockton University - Galloway Campus: C-D Atrium (November 29th) and Noyes Museum Art Garage (December 1st) is to recreate lanterns referenced in literature.

The Yeondeunghoe Preservation Committee will host the classes to share their research into the restoration of traditional lanterns. Each workshop will be a two-hour course. The lanterns are recreated in traditional materials, including steel wire, traditional Korean papers and paper flowers, the process is entirely handcrafted.

Professional artisans teach the entire course, from building the frame, attaching the Korean traditional paper and coloring the lantern, to the final stages of wiring and lighting the lantern. We expect that those who attend the classes can then transmit and recreate what they learned to others as well as events at Atlantic City, and thereby continue their own creative tradition here.
