On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at 7:00pm, the South Jersey Poets Collective welcomes Martin Farewell to Stockton University’s Noyes Arts Garage (2200 Fairmount Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401).

Our usual Open Mic, where participants read one poem that is less than two minutes long, will run from 7:00pm-7:45pm. Please arrive by 6:50pm to secure a spot in the Open. After the break, participants will return to a free take-home writing prompt.

Poet and playwright Martin Jude Farawell is the author of the poetry collection Odd Boy from Sibling Rivalry Press. His poems have also appeared in the chapbook Genesis: A Sequence of Poems, and in a wide variety of journals — Cortland Review, LIPS, Literary Review, Orion, Paterson Literacy Review, Poetry East, Southern Review and Tiferet, among others — and in a number of anthologies, including Outsiders (Milkweed Editions) and The Traveler’s Vade Mecum (Red Hen Press). His plays have been produced in off-off-Broadway, college, community and regional theaters from South Africa to Los Angeles. A graduate of New York University’s Create Writing Program, he has been the recipient of a writing fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and a frequent Pushcart Prize nominee. He directs the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival.
