Just us this Third Thursday as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with readings from Andrea Flores's new book

¡OH, MI HONDURAS! is Andrea's third book. It is a book that is composed of feelings, emotions and love. A book that shows the importance of human values, highlighting the invaluable talents of all those who are not recognized. The talents of various people are involved in this book, from an old lady who cooks with firewood, through the verses written by Andrea and collaborations of two other poets, to the art in watercolor drawings and professional photographs. Andrea seeks to rescue and give space to different talents. A book that contains the human quality of the author.

Excerpts from the book

BLUEBERRY PICKER
I am an immigrant and my children are hungry and have goals,
That, I promised them one day in my inescapable departure.
And then in lands not mine, I go out to start
The day with a head held high, a tired body,
Longings that may never be fulfilled, sighs
Repeated and the strength of pale hopes.
But my strong spirit to live life.
