Iconic Jersey Tomatoes: Past, Present, and Future

  • Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University 2200 Fairmount Avenue Atlantic City United States (map)

Attend this free event on Sunday, February 12 at 11:00 a.m. to learn about the history of the Jersey tomato, followed by a seed distribution.

Jersey tomatoes are as much Jersey as the shore, Springsteen, and the pork roll vs. Taylor Ham debate. Join Jeff Quattrone, a local Jersey tomato seed historian, and founder of Library Seed Bank for a conversation about the history of the Jersey tomato. This includes a community project he's organizing around these seeds and the six functionally extinct Jersey tomato varieties he's revived with community partners. One of the six includes the Atlantic Prize tomato, an Atlantic County heirloom. Seeds for the Atlantic Prize will be available for free.
