Nurturing the Creative Mind

This program is open only for residents of the Atlantic City Townhouses.

Two sessions a day:

10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

1:00 to 3:00 PM

“Nurturing the Creative Mind” will provide aging adults with basic and intermediate visual arts skills where they could practice and explore creating to communicate their personal feelings and experiences. Each class will focus on visual arts but implement teachings of writing skills and applications according to therapeutic principles. This program is funded by the NJSCA Creative Aging Initiative grant to serve residents at the Atlantic City Townhouses.

About the Instructor: As a working visual artist, Valeria Marcus balances her dual career as a local arts educator, working as a Social Caseworker, and serving as a social justice advocate. She has spent several decades teaching the aging population in visual arts and advocating for domestic violence and child abuse victims to help serve the population of Atlantic City through healing arts and advocacy work.

Thank you to the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for your support through the Creative Aging Initiative!
