The Tuckerton Seaport will focus its learning experiences on bringing folk art of the Jersey Shore region to senior citizens at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University, once a month from March through December. Participants will engage in traditional folk-arts based programming that will encompass the following forms: Basketry, Fiber Arts, Folk-Singing, Blacksmithing, Quilting, Decoy Carving, Paper-Lighthouses, Foodways, Lenape doll-making, and African-American music and its influence. The learning goals from each of these unique workshops are to connect folk artists with the senior community to create intercultural understanding and knowledge of folk art in an effort to build a stronger community connection, and foster creative expression
