Coastal Cousins Youth Film Screening

Coastal Cousins Heritage Gardens is having their Urban Garden Film Festival on August 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. This local youth group has been hard at work this summer creating their own films about urban gardens, and we're excited to see what they've made!

All are welcome to join us for a film screening. After the film viewing, enjoy a sampling of yam dishes by local chefs.

About the organization:

Coastal Cousins Heritage Gardens, Inc. (CCHG) is dedicated to addressing food equity, climate change, and urban gardening through specific academically supported units of study, lesson plans, activities, and workshops. CCHG believes in the power of community, and thus, it will engage a network of local and regional community-based gardening initiatives and academic programs. These collaborations will ensure the alignment of various community organizations to urban gardening, sustainability, nutrition education, cultural heritage, and agricultural technology. www.coastalcousins.org

About the film:

The film we are working on concerns the challenges facing Atlantic City as it looks to the future. Our young filmmakers bring a perspective that examines the city as measured against its residents' visions for a brighter tomorrow. This work is deeply connected to the multiple community gardens that exist throughout the city.
