A Teachers' Workshop: Relief Printmaking with Artist and Instructor Fay Stanford

  • Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University 2200 Fairmount Avenue Atlantic City, NJ, 08401 United States (map)

The Noyes Museum of Art of Stockton University is holding a Teachers’ Workshop for New Jersey educators on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 9 AM - 3 PM at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University in Atlantic City, NJ. This workshop is open to all New Jersey school districts. For grade 1-12 educators and all levels of artists, the workshop is designed for art teachers but can be useful for teachers across disciplines. Southern Regional Consortium members can register for this workshop with their ETTC hours through their school district.

Leading the workshop is artist and instructor, Fay Stanford. Stanford works with relief prints, having two primary methods of printmaking. She most often uses woodcut and monotypes as her preferred method of creation. She has participated in numerous exhibitions, both solo and group, across various locations in the US. Many of her pieces are focused on history, with her main focal point being colonial-era Pennsylvania. Her most recent exhibition featured both woodcut prints and monotypes, exploring both the personal history of the area and the community's history and land. We don’t get to revise the past. So can we as immigrants at least acknowledge our gracious hosts—the Lenape?

Workshop attendees will meet the artist, participate in a hands-on printmaking activity, and go on an artist-guided tour of Stanford's exhibit at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University. All materials are included. Light morning refreshments and lunch are included.

The registration fee is $178 per person or 7 ETTC hours.

The Southern Regional Institute (SRI) and Educational Technology Training Center (ETTC) provides professional development opportunities for preK-12 educators, technology coordinators, school administrators, and other professionals who offer support services to schools.
