Immerse yourself in the art of figure sculpting with terracotta water-based clay suited for firing in a kiln. In this dynamic workshop featuring a live model, participants will create a small figural sculpture in water-based clay modeled from a live model holding a dynamic pose for four days. This hands-on experience is designed for artists of all skill levels who wish to enhance their understanding of the human form, gesture and movement. Tools and clay are provided.
Artist German Acosta will instruct, do demonstrations and sculpt along all participants. This workshop is welcome to all skill levels, from beginners to professionals.
Each participant will work on a movable sculpture stand. Participants will be encouraged to rotate around the model constantly to be able to sculpt around the model and capture as many angles as possible.

Sunday, Nov. 9th (5:30 PM to 9:00 PM) : 3 hours studio work
Monday, Nov. 10th (10:00 AM to 5:30 PM) : 6 hours of studio work (lunch from 12-1)
Tuesday, Nov. 11th (10:00 AM to 5:30 PM) : 6 hours of studio work (lunch from 12-1)
Wednesday, Nov. 12th (5:30 PM to 9:00PM) : 3 hours of studio work

This intensive sculpture workshop will lead participants through the creation of one 1/8 scale (seated 8” tall aprox.) female figure in water-based clay suitable for firing in a kiln. It includes a total of four studio days with a live model, 18 hours total and art tour.

Clay is provided. All Materials, tools and parking for the WAVE Garage is included. Participants are welcome to bring your own tools.
