Iconic Jersey Tomatoes book signing with Jeff Quattrone

  • Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University 2200 Fairmount Avenue Atlantic City, NJ, 08401 United States (map)

The public is invited to this FREE book signing with local author, artist, and seed historian Jeff Quattrone at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University on Sunday, October 12 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Jersey tomatoes are a distinct part of Jersey culture and history that we grow in our soil, from seeds created here intentionally for Jersey tomatoes. Those seeds connect us to the collective generational experiences that allowed the Jersey tomato to become part of our culture. Jeff Quattrone, local artist and seed historian and activist, has revived six functionally extinct Jersey-bred tomato varieties with the help of community partners. He tells that story along with the collective generational experiences around tomato breeding and seeds that led to the Jersey tomato being part of our culture in his recently released book, Iconic Jersey Tomatoes, An American Folklife and Foodway. Jeff will be here to sign copies of his book and talk about tomatoes.
