Calling all educators, art lovers, and creative minds! Join us for a hands-on, inspiring Fiber Arts: Kinusaiga Workshop — a unique professional development experience designed for teachers and K-12 educators. 

In this workshop, participants will learn a contemporary Japanese fiber arts process called Kinusaiga, which was created by Maeno Setsu in 1987. This process combines elements of traditional textile techniques with modern materials and methods. Using fabric, each participant will create a layered and textural collage. We will discuss how to repurpose and “upcycle” materials to make this project cost-effective and affordable for classroom use.

We will also experiment with wool fiber arts, exploring needle felting techniques and felt “painting.”

During the hands-on portion of the workshop, teachers will experiment and learn two new art making processes focused on fiber arts.

All materials and lunch are included. This workshop is instructed by artist and educator Jane Medio.

The registration fee is $178 per person or 7 ETTC hours. 

The SRI&ETTC is proud to partner with The Noyes Museum of Art at Stockton University to host a Teachers' Workshop for New Jersey educators at The Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University in Atlantic City, NJ. The Southern Regional Institute (SRI) and Educational Technology Training Center (ETTC) provides professional development opportunities for preK-12 educators, technology coordinators, school administrators, and other professionals who offer support services to schools.
