Presenter: Paul Schopp, Assistant Director of the South Jersey Culture and History Center
Railroads played a pivotal role in facilitating Immigration into southern New Jersey during the nineteenth and early twentieth century. Without the presence of railroads, many settlements would have proven much more difficult to create. Paul W. Schopp will describe how the railroads brought thousands of new inhabitants to South Jersey and ushered in a formative wave of new communities.
